Very Pleased with Lang 60 Smoker Cooker Performance

September 11, 2012

Mike from Frisco, Texas owns a Lang 60 Deluxe Smoker Cooker and recently told us…
” I competed in the Bedford Blues and BBQ contest in Bedford TX two weeks ago, and talked with the Lang guys that had the smokers set up and they sent a few people down to look at my 60D in action.

I just wanted you to know that in a star studded KCBS field, we took home 2nd place in ribs (out of 59 teams) and 11th overall.

We were very pleased with the Lang’s performance!”

Thank You  Mike for letting us know about your results.Great finish!
Congratulations!!! Those ribs sure do shine in a Lang BBQ Smoker

Thanks for using our 60 Deluxe BBQ Smoker for your competition!

Placed 3rd Overall at my FIRST BBQ Competition!

September 4, 2012

Ben,
I just wanted to say “Thank You” for building such a great smoker. This past weekend I competed in my first BBQ competition, here in UTAH. I used my new Deluxe Lang 60 with 40″ chargrill. Using my Lang I placed… 3rd in chicken. 4th in Brisket. 4th in pork, and 6th in ribs. For being my first competition I placed 3rd overall. “Lucy Lang” (my smoker) is a looker and I received a bunch of complements on the way she looks, best part of it all I was in the MONEY!!!
-Thanks

First Whole Hog

August 21, 2012

Howdy,

I received my Smoker Cooker about 2 weeks ago. I purchased the Lang 60 Deluxe after lots of looking and talking to you guys and wanted to let you guys know that this thing is the best! A buddy and I cooked some
ribs and chicken that just turned out fabulous. We then thought…let’s try a whole hog. Neither of us had done this before and let me tell you…..17 hrs after we started it, 53 people were well fed with some of the best compliments a guy could get…that 75lb hog was the hit! (That Lang did it all for us)

Thank you guys for the products you make and I know I’m gonna be cookin my ass off with this machine!

Thanks again!

From Washington State….. Steve D.

Creating Strong Happy Memories Through a Smoker Cooker

July 26, 2012

Dear Mr. Ben Lang,

I received my Lang 60 Original almost a month ago. I have only had the opportunity to smoke cure it, and to cook on it once. I cooked some beef briskets, baby back ribs, and some spare ribs. Everything turned out
great.

My father passed away this past Saturday and one of the last things he talked to me about was how much he enjoyed the ribs I cooked. He was in a great mood and seemingly feeling well because he mentioned firing up the smoker and cooking some ribs. My father was a wonderful cook and he knew good food. He was as proud of my Lang 60 Original as much as I am. His passing was sudden and at home and by all indication pain free. He was in the kitchen preparing food for our weekly Sunday afternoon family meal. Thank you for providing a quality smoker cooker that brought some joy to my father’s life.

One more thing I have to tell you; my neighbors are telling me that the smells that came from my Lang 60 Original was making them hungry. They are already requesting that I feed them the next time I cook. I am one happy customer and I look forward to using and learning more about how to use my cooker in the days, months, and hopefully years ahead. What a hobby! What a way of life! Thank you Ben Lang.

Surfing for a Smoker Cooker?

June 13, 2012

Smoking Chickens as a side businessGlenn from California was surfing on the web for some smoker cookers with ideas of starting a side business with it.

Read what Glenn asked about reverse flow and warmers and Ben Lang’s reply. (more…)

love my lang

June 13, 2012

I have the Lang 60 deluxe w/warming box and 40″ chargrill. It’s 2 separate grills (wood smoker and charcoal grill) on a single trailer.

For cooking capacity, the Lang website states:

40 to 45- 1/2 Chickens
Or: 20 – 8lb. Pork Butts
- With upper rack, 21-22 Pork Butts
Or: 15 – Slabs Ribs
Or: 1 – 100 lb. Pig

Personally, I know you can cook a case of burgers (about 50 patties) AND a case of hotdogs (about 50) in the main smoker, AND have another case of burgers cooking in the chargrill, at the same time! You better be ready to do some serious flippin’!

You can control how hot the warming box gets by using dampers. On average, when the main smoker is 275, the warming box is around 175-195, with dampers closed. If you open them, you allow more heat into the warming box.

If you can hold off until October, there is a massive BBQ competition where it’s champions vs. champions, best of the best, at The Jack Daniels Invitational, Lynchburg, TN. You’ll get to meet the best pitmasters in the country. Last year, I met Myron Mixon, Chris Lily, Mike Davis, and of course, Ben Lang! That’s also where I bought my Lang from Ben. He brings a truckload to The Jack. Maybe you can order it and have it bring it there for you to pick up, kill 2 birds with 1 stone. You’ll also get to tour the Jack Daniels distillery. The tour and the BBQ competition (as a spectator) are FREE to the public!

This may sound like a repeat of other Lang owners, but I LOVE MY LANG! I don’t regret my purchase ONE BIT. And you couldn’t GIVE me one of those charcoal smokers that look like a dorm refrigerator. I love the Lang’s design that allows me to cook “old school”, with a fire pit. Oh, by the way, “reverse flow” units have the firebox and smoke stack on on the same end. The hear flows through a hollow chamber in the belly, then rises to the upper level, then flows back across your meat to the smokestack.

Sorry for being long winded, but I personally feel that customer feedback is the best marketing a company can have. Matter of fact, I’d like to see this on Lang’s website: “Don’t take our word for it, just ask our customers!” – Have a safe trip to pick up your Lang.

You’re gonna love it!

Lang 60 Delux BBQ Smoker Cooker

February 10, 2012

Had a few questions about ordering the Model 60D including delivery time if I pick up at your location. What would it cost for these options.

· To have the same sliding full upper rack as the model 84 that can be completely removed. An additional sliding upper rack that is about the half the size of the full upper rack that can be used instead of the full rack.

- There is the option of the wider trailer, what is the cost of that?

Are there pictures of this option? Size of extra area (2’ x 6’?)

· What would be the cost of a chargrill on the 60D? If put on the wider trailer I assume you can put a bigger chargrill, what would be the cost of a larger chargrill? Does it go on the other side of the pit or still mounted on the front. (more…)

Interested in Models: Lang 60 Original

Planning to purchase: In 1-3 Months

How I found this site: internet search

Questions/Comments: I am interested in purchasing your Lang 60 Original, likely in the next week or two but I need to have a few questions answered.

1.) What would be the cost of shipping the Lang 60 Original to my home in Ocala, FL?

2.)If I choose to pick it up in person at your Nahunta, GA shop, what are your weekend hours?

3.)Is a thermometer built into the unit or is that an add on?

4.)If I pick it up are Lang 60s ready to haul out as is? Or are some other additions needed to tow them and make them road legal?

5.)Related to #4, from what I can see on the State of Florida sites the trailer would not need to be titled as it is under 2,000 pounds in weight. Since you no doubt, sell many of your units to Florida clients, is that your understanding as well or would I need a Florida plate on it to tow it home to Florida?

Thank you for your time and attention

Tom King

Ocala, FL

Hello Tom,

Some   tag their  bbq smokers; others don’t. I believe your interpretation of the law is correct.

Delivery fee to you is $400. due when it arrives.

Weekend pick ups are okay when prearranged and not on  home football weekends.

Lang BBQ Smokers come with a heat gauge, extra gauges can be purchased.

The  bbq units are road ready and require a 2″ball for towing ; with a four-way flat hook up for the trailer lights. Thanks for your e-mail and thanks for Looking at Lang BBQ Smokers.

Our model 60  is a great all around size machine. Hope to serve you up one soon.

Regards,

Ben Lang
